Okay, you're probably wondering what the title of the piece is right? Pick one of DL's work to rec? HA! Yeah, right! When I stumbled upon DL's work, I ended up reading her entire website in two days' time. She has got to be one of the most incredible TS writers in the fandom. She throws in humor when you least expects it. Her plot lines are well researched, and her original characters are completely believable. Jim is protective and mischievous. Blair is wise and fun. And literally, when I say "all categories," it's true. She covers the gauntlet of genres with beautifully written stories. (sigh) Great work. |

I love this piece. It makes me sigh. And smile. Robyn's written a beautifully restful piece about one friend coming home exhausted and his friend taking care of him. Now, you're probably asking, which friend is doing what? We don't know. Robyn's written it so that it could either be Blair or Jim doing either set of actions. I think that's what appeals to me the most. That in it's ambiguity, it's also very specific. Because with Jim and Blair, the caring goes both ways. They both care and are cared for. Beautiful. |

This one is just cute as hell. And it really says something about the Jim/Blair dynamic. About how close they really are. Because only truly close people can share clothes without even know it. |

Butt-kicking, Fun, Xover |
This is part of Cindy's AU where Blair is MacGyver's son. It is also an xover with Charmed . . . the one with Pru. I like this story because we get to see more of Sam, Mac's other son and Blair's baby brother. She also hints in this story that Sam will be meeting his future sentinel! Yay! Now, only if she would write the story, I'd be completely happy! Mac makes a very brief appearance, but I can forgive her for that because Cindy went on to write one of my favorite M7ATF/TS xovers, Refuge. Oh, and I loved all the flirting going on! It was a great element to the story, and Cindy mixed a predominantly male show with a predominantly female show beautifully. Every character from each show gets to shine in his/her own way. Loved it. |

Fun as hell, Aww Shucks, Butt-kicking |
The only bad thing I can say about Johanna is that she doesn't write enough! The woman is a genius with humor! Everything from her timing to her incredibly funny one-liners are perfect! As for "Checklist" in particular. . . well, I think the reason I find it so completely hilarious is that I can sooo see Jim meticulously following a "To Do" list in his head . . . even when his Guide is in danger. Oh! And Blair! Heheheheh, can we say, "blasé Blair kidnap victim"? Hehehehe, c'mon, I know you can . . . (eg) |

Butt-kicking, Fun, Drama |
Okay, okay, I know. I already rec'ed all of DL's work, but this is a great story! After the TSbyBS fiasco, writers went into 1 of 3 scenarios: a) Blair as a cop, b) Blair as not a cop, or c) Blair and Jim are kidnapped by government agencies and are turned into spies/mercenaries. In all of them, Jim remains a cop . . . well, except for that last one. (g) Anyway, DL went a different route. Blair stays a teacher and Jim turns in his badge! (gasp!) Oh, the horror of horrors! Not! DL, the talent that she is, takes Jim and Blair out of their molds and builds them new ones. They do, in fact, evolve. Both of them. They deal with the dis mess, they deal with each other, and then they deal with the world. She deals with each issue and them brings them to a new point in their lives. A life that is theirs. Not Jim's. Not Blair's. A true melding of lives. Wonderfully done. |

Another gem by this talented writer. Again, hilarious. And so sweet, because even though Blair's not there during most of the story, you can feel the impact of his presence through the whole story. And, I gotta say, that if I hadn't felt bad for Simon before, I do now. What that man has to put up with when Blair leaves Jim in his care for a short working vacation . . . . it makes me laugh and Simon cry. Hehehehe |

This one is a very cool story. It's part of the Halloween Wheel and it makes use of a childhood song. What I love about this story is the plausibility and the reactions of the Major Crimes people. It's like, they know that something's up but have decided to respect the supernatural and just let it be. Very cool. |

This is the one and only slash recommendation you'll find on this page. And the reason why is because I'm not real big into TS slash, but this story, this story is utterly relentless. From beginning to end, it doesn't stop and you're drawn in against your will. You don't get to breathe, you don't get to move, not until the very end. Then you sigh in relief. Intense. Utterly relentless. Incredible. |

This one is creepy. Just plain creepy. I loved this story because it made me sit up and glance around my room. It was just plain spooky. As Blair describes it, "That was a really bad (acid) trip, man." And it is. So bad, it's good. And the Jim/Blair moments are great. Fear is a great motivator when it comes to expressing yourself to those around you, and Blair and Jim connect because of it. They have to rely on each other to get themselves through the "really bad trip." Great freak out factor. |

Butt-kicking, Fun, Xover, Poor Baby, Drama |
Okay, this is has got to be my favorite M7ATF/TS xover of all time! Poor Vin. He runs to his former commanding officer when he believes that his entire team has been killed. WAIT! Don't freak! I did say "believes" didn't I? Uh huh, that's what I thought. Vin's on the run when he believes that all of Team Seven has been killed in a double cross. So he goes to the only person in Washington state he trusts, Jim Ellison. Jim and Blair protect the emotionally and physically hurt Tanner, while trying to find the people behind the double cross. Meanwhile, Chris is spitting mad. He can't find Vin, his team's been betrayed, and to top it all off, he's hurt! So how does Vin reunite with this team? You're just going to have to read it to find out! |

Okay, if the title doesn't clue you in, here's a quote, "Now lookit, Jim. These are NOT mine because I do NOT wear pants that go up to my nipple line. Who do you think I am -- Pee-wee Herman? On second thought, don't answer that." (snicker) And, oh my God! The socks! Hehehehehe. Want a laugh, go, read, laugh. |
| Synchronization in Chaos |

Butt-kicking, Fun, Xover |
Okay, seriously, this piece is aptly named. Chaos, pure chaos. . . but somehow, Cindy manages to quite literally, synchronize it all quite beautifully. This is a (deep breath) M7ATF/TS/MacGyver/SG1 xover. Wow. Yeah, chaos. . . can you imagine that many trouble magnets in one place? It's enough to make me shed a tear in sympathy for Jim, Chris, and Jack. And oh, yeah, lots and lots of fun. Lots of fun. (g) A great action story. Go, read it. Marvel at a master puppeteer. |
| The GDP Series |
Susan Foster |
R, very, very R |
Dark, Butt-kicking, Poor Baby, Drama |
I love this series. I. Love. This. Series. What I love about this series is how Susan manages to walk that VERY fine line between smarm and slash. It's damn near impossible to do, but she does it. And she does it well. The series is intense, but then again, the world she's create is intense. Guides are damn near slaves and Sentinels their owners. Until one Sentinel/Guide pair start changing the world to suit them. If you like dark angst, you'll love this series. But a warning, if you try to read this in one sitting, you'll blitz out on it. So, my recommendation? Take day long breaks. Or at least hour, if you can't wait that long! |

Drama, Aww Shucks |
I like this one because of the very end. The story is great in that it's touching without being too obvious about it. Elaine has a deft touch with the drama and angst. She doesn't overdo it to epic proportions. It's there and the boys deal with it and then finally, they get some rest. A great piece. |

Fun, a helluva a lot of fun, and Sexy |
(eg) Okay, can you tell I like this one? This is a great story because of the simplicity of the plot line: Jim. In. Leather. . . . . . Okay, sorry, drooling there. (g) Anyway, the whole piece is hilarious because it takes this very simple concept, hehehe, and elaborates on it. Here's a line that absolutely love, "Blair contemplated getting his partner to the drop off site. They'd have to have Rafe and Brown to come along as body guards and rent a limo to keep out of sight. Otherwise there was going to be some serious car accidents." (snicker) Jimbabes, go, read, drool. Blairbabes, go, read, write one for me that's just as good. |
| Through the Eyes of a Friend |
JET |
G |
Drama, Aww Shucks |
This. This is pure poetry. It's Jim and Blair's relationship through the eyes of a friend. I really love the part where Simon compares Blair to a countermelody in a piece of music. Now, I know next to nothing about the technicalities of music, but the way JET describes him and it makes perfect sense. And then you get Simon's view of Jim. At first, it's all the normal fanon concerning how Jim feels about Blair. But then. . . then JET hits you with the most beautiful words, descriptions, and feelings. A truly beautiful, contemplative, and restful work. One that leaves you hoping that you can say the same about a certain someone in your own life. |

Butt-kicking, Fun, Xover |
This is part of Cindy's AU where Blair is MacGyver's son. I love this AU . . . mainly because I love the idea of Mac being Blair's daddy. (g) This particular xover involves RDA's split personality, Jack O'Neill, from Stargate SG1. This story is great because everyone is in character. Blair is gutsy and, again, the blasé kidnap victim. Jim is, as always, the Blessed Protector. . . and kudos to Cindy 'cause she didn't use that term in the story. And I absolutely LOVE Daniel in this story! He knows he's got power and he uses it! At one point he glares at a guard and says, " 'Do I need to go talk with the general and Colonel O'Neill about this?' Both men immediately shook their heads. . . .They also knew that O'Neill would be there at the first word from the scientist in front of them." Priceless! You go, Danny! : - D And, as with all of Cindy's stories, a great action piece with really nice introspective slipped in. |
